Catholic Media Weekly: My Advent Playlist

By Isaiah Schick

A very blessed Advent to you all! If your recent experience has been anything like mine, you’ve already been abundantly wished a Merry Christmas about a billion times even though Christmas is still several weeks away. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE Christmas. But I also really like Advent, and I think a deliberate period of waiting and preparation makes Christmas all the more special. That being said, I have compiled a Spotify playlist entitled “Advent” that I wanted to share with you all that has been an awesome blessing in my life the past several years:

The songs on it help me to meditate on the meaning of the coming holiday and to build up the excitement that is expressed in so many of the Christmas songs we know and love. Not to mention that they help me to not get sick of Christmas music before Christmas even arrives (my Christmas playlist goes on right after I go to Christmas Mass and is played through the month of January!). While I am not saying you shouldn’t listen to Christmas music early, I do hope that this playlist gives you a unique perspective during this important and beautiful season of the liturgical year. Enjoy!
